A couple of weeks ago, I got some amazing news. I learned that I was nominated for the Liebster Award for New Blogs! Special thank you to my buddy, Paige of The Pages of Paige, for her sweet nomination. I am honored to accept this award!

So, what’s the Liebster Award?

I am so glad you asked! The Liebster Award is an award that exists only on the Internet and is given to bloggers by other bloggers. The earliest case of the award goes as far back as 2011. Liebster in German means sweetest, kindest, nicest, dearest, beloved, lovely, kind, pleasant, valued, cute, endearing, and welcome.

This blog would not have been possible without the support and inspiration of my family, friends, and mentors. I am also inspired by the talented blogging community! I’d like to take this opportunity to recognize other blogs and announce my nominations for the Liebster Award.

Until I Get Married: Inside The Mind of The Modern Day Bachelor 

I discovered Until I Get Married in 2010 – a year before S&T was born. Jozen Cummings speaks hilariously and candidly about his dating experiences.  It is refreshing to hear the male perspective on dating. His storytelling abilities is on-point! And I appreciate his vulnerability in his posts. Jozen was recently engaged, and his blogging journey is coming towards the end. While I’m excited for him, I’m sad to see the end of his wonderful blog.

Damn Girl, Get Your Shit Together

I discovered this blog 2 months ago and haven’t left. This blog is one of the best I have ever read. Damn Girl shares hilarious stories and unique perspectives on life. My favorite blog posts include:

Awesomely Luvvie

Awesomely Luvvie is home to all of Luvvie Ajayi’s commentaries on pop culture, social media, TV, travel, politics, celebrities and everything else. She’s the self proclaimed side-eye sorceress who says what we’re all thinking, but never say aloud. And she is so funny!

Her book, I’m Judging You: The Do-Better Manual, is a NY Times best-seller. Her TED talk has over 1 million views. In other words, Luvvie is the epitome of #BlackGirlMagic.

The Unlost

I discovered The Unlost 6 years when I was unemployed, living with my parents, trying to figure out life. I was definitely lost, but Therese, the blog’s author, helped me become a little less lost. The Unlost is an advice and motivational guide on careers for Gen Y-ers. My favorite blog post is Career Planning Is A Horrible Idea.

Oneika The Traveller

Oneika is a thirty-something woman who has been to more than 100 countries on 6 continents. She documents all of her travel adventurous on her popular blog, Oneika The Traveller. She also talks about how all of us can devise a plan to travel as well.

1. I played my cello at the BET Hip Hop Music Awards in 2012.

2. If I were independently wealthy, I’d be travel the world, do motivational speeches, write books, blogs, and articles.

3. I have a healthy obsession with Insecure on HBO. Issa Rae inspires me!

4. The most difficult question for me to answer is “Where are you from?” I can give you 4 different responses depending on the context. I’ve written about it on my blog.

5. I get paid big bucks to analyze large sets of healthcare data from an office cubicle. It’s weird that I’m enjoying it as much as I am because….

6. I identify as an extrovert. I love people, parties, and anything that involves me in front of people.

7. I’ve won the Most Likely To Be In A Good Mood/Most Cheerful or some type of “She-s-Always-Happy” recognition five times throughout my life. I think the universe is trying to tell me something.

8. I am terrible with directions. Whenever I’m the one navigating the driver in the car, we will get lost. Yet, friends still rely on me to navigate. Go figure.

9. I rather snack than eat a proper meal. I’ll skip dinner to justify eating a bag of bite size Tostitos!
